The when, why, what about ASQA audits

ASQA have recently released a fact sheet that covers details of audits, their names and when they are likely to occur.

It is very clear in the information for example for Initial registration: an audit would occur when the application has been assessed as meeting financial  viability and Fit and Proper Person requirements.

It then goes on to explain what is audited for instance they are looking for evidence of the preparedness of the applicant organisation to operate as an RTO and/or to deliver training to international students studying in Australia.

The audit involves a review of evidence provided by the applicant to inform a recommendation about, among other things:

  • the appropriateness of management systems,
  • delivery strategies and other resources whether proposed implementation of delivery strategies meets training package and/or accredited course requirements
  • the suitability and sufficiency of facilities and equipment, and the competence of nominated delivery personnel.

This is an excellent tool that can be used by people thinking about setting up an RTO or people within an existing RTO.

The tool can be found here, or by going to the ASQA website and looking at the FACTSHEETS – you never know what else you might find that is useful information. RTO Success – Packaged together everything to develop a compliant RTO
