Whilst RTOs can put any number of policies in place, nothing will work unless there is strong cultural aspect to gain respect for the system. This cultural aspect comes from the top and must work its way down through the organisation. The CEO must be respecting policies whether they be RTO training systems, staffing or safety related for the workers to really take them on and run with them. Your RTO compliance relies on everyone knowing the systems and working with them. The question remains – how will you influence those around you to respect them.
Every person has their own style and approach to managing their workers. Consider how your journey is going to go, will it be on the leadership side, honouring those that make difference and respect the systems or make a difference?
It is important to learn from one another on your journey. So consider how you do this? Will it be through regular meetings, discussions, or however you deem fit?
Everyone in your team has incredibly diverse and valuable skills and backgrounds. A fault with many organisations is people don’t listen to each other as they charge down the tunnels of work. Plan to stop and listen; you might learn something important. Remember to record it in a way that it can be demonstrated.
