The program includes speakers with a wide range of experience and varied backgrounds. Professor Steve Allsop, Director of the National Drug Research Institute, Curtin University of Technology will explore alcohol and drug use in the workplace and the implications for interventions to prevent and respond to alcohol and other drug related harm. Dr Barry Chesson, Senior Occupational Hygienist, Chevron Australia Pty Ltd will cover the basics of recognition, evaluation and control of heat stress in the workplace and working safely in hot conditions. Sessions on local issues, harmonisation of laws, workplace conflict and stress, sprains and strains will be presented by senior WorkSafe Inspectors.
