Another training video from ASQA that provides information about ASQA’s approach to auditing, ASQA’s audit processes and how to prepare for an audit.
All applicants for initial registration undergo an audit to confirm that the applicant is ready to provide nationally recognised training. This is a ‘site audit’, meaning the audit is conducted at the premises from which the training organisation intends to operate. If the application is successful, then a follow-up audit is usually conducted within 12 months of the new RTO commencing operations. This will also usually be a site audit.
All renewal and change of scope applications are assessed for risk, and higher risk applications for renewal or change of scope may be referred for assessment through audit.
Audits may also occur to inform the outcome of a renewal of registration application, if there is a significant change of management, to investigate sector-wide quality issues, to follow-up on previously identified compliance issues or to monitor ongoing compliance.
ASQA can conduct audits at any time, with or without notice.
