RTO Compliance
With the implementation of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) in 2015, the compliance focus for RTOs has been a huge learning curve. This is where RTO Consultants can help. Whilst many RTOs are applying new strategies and trying to cover everything needed, still I find RTOs need support to meet the Standards.
The new audit process also brings an ethical, and transparent, student centred approach. This means the student experience is the focus. With the negative press recently, we want the best student experience we can give, so your students come back.
Holding the qualifications for an auditor set out in Schedule 1 of the Standards for VET Regulators 2015, RTO Mentor can assist you as an existing Registered Training Organisation (RTO) if you are looking to meet your compliance obligations.
RTO Mentor is all about working with people, helping them and their business to be all they can be. When we come an audit your RTO, it is about helping you and your clients. We know what it is like to manage an RTO, run a business, and meet compliance. We understand that sometimes all these things don’t agree with each other.
During recent audits the following key issues for RTOs exist:
- Poor recruitment and enrolment of students. Specifically Learners not in courses that are suited to them; or being able to achieve the outcomes that they want. It is all about the learners. I.e. People with low level schooling being put into diploma level courses straight away without being given any support.
- Amount of training. Providers giving training in an unduly short time are causing issues to the sector. Only learners with experience would it be reasonable to see a shorter course. RTOs need to think about the pre-existing skills and knowledge before enrolling.
- Trainers and assessors. Finding people are struggling with assessment. Critical area in the VET space.
