Starting, building and growing your RTO business is exciting. You need to consider many aspects, including your RTO systems. When considering setting up your RTO when of the areas you need to research is how to automate and store your data. Some people make a choice not to invest and use what they can on their computer. yet, without systems that allow automation you don’t own a business – you ARE the business. That means if you want to double revenue, you need to double the hours you work. Since you only have so many hours in a day, that limits how fast and how big you grow. So you need to put in place systems. A system is a method of solving a repeated business issue in a strategic and effortless way. Systems are the sine qua non of the cliché “work smart, not hard.”
Systems that give you back time, and allow your business to thrive. As an RTO you already have in place your RTO Systems, which include your policies, procedures, and in some cases your work instructions. It is the use of software that we need to improve.
Using software
Most RTOs use an average of 5 pieces of software to keep their training and stay compliant. This includes:
- Payroll system
- Student database
- Customer relationship management software
- Survey systems / student feedback
- Scheduling and communication systems such as calendars and email
RTO systems
Studies show that in 2015, training organisations spent an average of 49 hours per week on routine or repetitive administrative tasks. When you start small, it is recommended that you don’t invest huge amounts of money into systems that actually don’t do what they told you at the time of sale. So take your time, develop your business, bed done the policies and procedures to see how things actually do pan out.
Then once you are ready to make the change to better automation, review what you can change consider what your whole needs are. Consider all 5 areas above and is there something out there that you can use to incorporate all of them.
