Many businesses have supported the development of ASQA and all the changes it has made. As time has moved on and states have moved across, there is one state that has the final say..and that is Queensland. The time is looming closer for Parliament in Queensland to be returning following the school holidays. With the new government there is much to be decided and determined. Will the new government support the passing of the legislation? Will they determine if ASQA remains as it has been developed today?
“On 1 July 2011, the Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations made a determination under section 7 National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (Cwlth) that Queensland would not become a non-referring jurisdiction. This determination gives Queensland until 30 June 2012 to refer power or it will become a non-referring jurisdiction.”

Interesting times ahead as on 30 June 2012 the Queensland determination expires!
Will we actually get the national consistency of regulation as needed so much in Australia?
